Apia Sewerage Project

Project Features
The Project’s objectives were to provide potable water supply; treat and dispose of wastewater collected from the lower-lying parts of Apia; improve public health; and protect the environment by reducing the pollution in the surrounding and internal bodies of water.

The project included an evaluation of the existing water supply and sewerage system; identification of improvements to those systems; and a 14,000 cu. m/d water treatment plant utilizing slow sand filter together with preliminary filters.

Scope of Services
NJS prepared the feasibility study for the proposed water supply and wastewater facilities, including assessment and evaluation of existing facilities.
