Consultancy Services for Water Security Mega Reservoirs

Project Features
Conceptual studies of three optional scenarios for the 7-Day Water Stock Scheme of the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) in order to meet the increasing water demand to support Qatar’s rapid growth and development and to ensure a reserve water stock in cases of severe nationwide water interruption; one option being proposed by KAHRAMAA involves the construction of 184 km pipelines of 1,200 to 2,800 mm diameter, and 5 mega water stations with a combined storage capacity of 8,650,000 cu m.

Scope of Services
Conduct of conceptual studies; project management consultancy including representation of the Client in various project phases and implementation of time, cost and quality performance parameters; coordination of all project stakeholders and activities.

Dukhan Township Potable Firewater Network and Sewage Treatment Plant

Project Features
Expansion of existing potable water network and sewage treatment plant in Dukhan Township, a Qatar Petroleum (QP) facility which houses its operations center for on-shore oilfield production manned by contractor personnel numbering about 4,500 who operate, maintain and develop the facilities; expansion of the water supply network comprising 27 km of mains to serve a population of nearly 13,000 by 2022 from the present population which consumes about 5 MLD of potable water including water used for landscape irrigation; the existing sewage treatment plant has already exceeded its design capacity of 2,730 MLD and will be expanded to meet the forecast sewage treatment demand capacity of 7,630 MLD in 2022.

Scope of Services
Evaluation of the existing systems, identify and evaluate options and recommend optimum measure for upgrading and expansion including implementation plans and the scope of work for the Front End Engineering Design preceding the design-build contracts for the construction of the recommended improvements, as well as to address the environmental impacts and permit requirements, HAZOPS and risk assessment.
