Barka Water Transmission System Project

Project Features
Construction of roads and urban infrastructure for two adjacent city districts in Tripoli with a combined area of 7,700 hectares and design population of approximately 400 thousand; primary, secondary and tertiary roads and infrastructure including 280 km of primary and secondary roads and more than 600 km of tertiary roads, together with associated storm drainage, water distribution, sewerage networks, pumping stations and rising mains; scope changes to the project have also introduced the construction of electrical, telecommunications and gas distribution networks; roads range from 6 lane urban highways down to minor tertiary roads, and pipelines range from
1000 mm ductile iron trunk mains down to house connections.

Scope of Services
Design concept and detailed design review and approval for all components, construction management and supervision, quality control, monitoring and reporting on design and construction activities to the Housing and Infrastructure Board through the Project Management Department; development of project roadmaps, strategies and approaches to significantly expand the contractors’ scope of works, modify the responsibilities of the contractor and introduce major improvements to the design of the infrastructure.

Water Supply Scheme for South Batinah

Project Features
Supply of water to the wilayats of Rustaq, Musanaah, Al Awabi, Wadi Maawil and Nakhal from an existing desalination plant; provision of 11 water distribution complexes including individual distribution pump stations with capacities up to 97 L/s at 230 m head, chlorination disinfection systems, standby generators, offices, laboratories, store workshops, ground storage reservoirs with capacity up to 7,500 cu m each, and water towers with individual capacity of 1,500 cu m; construction of more than 100 km of 800 mm diameter steel pipe and over 150 km ductile iron pipe of 500 mm diameter; the project has a design horizon of 2030 with a design population estimate of about 210,000.

Scope of Services
Scheme planning, preparation of detailed designs and tender documents, assistance with tendering and contract award, and supervision of construction.

Al Amerat Wastewater Project

Project Features
Provision of new wastewater treatment and reuse scheme to serve the rapidly developing Al Amerat and Al Hajir districts of Muscat Governorate with expected population of about 50,000 in 2027; construction of the following facilities: 2 wastewater treatment plants using activated sludge/MBR treatment processes in Al Amerat with a maximum design capacity of 36 MLD by 2035, and in Al Hajir with maximum design capacity of 16 MLD by 2035; sewage collection systems including 7,000 house connections, 130 km rider sewers of 150 mm diameter, 266 km main and local sewers of 200 mm and 300 mm diameter, 50 km trunk sewers of 800 mm diameter, and 4 sewage pump stations (the largest pump station has a capacity of 250 L/s) pumping sewage to the treatment plants through 14 km of pumping main up to 600 mm diameter; treated effluent system comprising of storage reservoirs, pump stations and a network of 56 km pipelines distributing treated effluent for use in landscape irrigation among others.

Project planning, including forecasting of population and wastewater generation, customer surveys, environmental assessment, financial modeling and risk analysis; preparation of detailed designs and tender documents, assistance with tendering and contract award, and supervision of construction.

Sohar Water Network Phase 2

Project Features
Provision of water supply from the service reservoir to the northern, central, western and southern areas of Sohar City to serve 140,000 persons (100% of 2012 population); facilities include water tower, pump stations and installation of pipelines, booster pump station and ground reservoir.

Scope of Services
Preparation of complete tender documents; recommend operation and maintenance system and provision for future development; assistance during tendering such as in the evaluation of bids and preparation of recommendation for the award of contracts; construction supervision.

Development of Pump Station for Potable and Fire Water Systems in Sohar Industrial Port Area

Project Features
Construction of pumping station, substation, surge control equipment and installation of pipelines and appurtenances for the supply of potable and fire water systems in Sohar Industrial Port area.

Scope of Services
Collection and review of existing data and reports; review of the existing potable water network system including the conduct of surveys such as site/soil investigations; propose phase-wise implementation scheme considering a gradual increase in water demand.

Water Transmission System From Samail to Izki Project

Project Features
Construction of 53 km long steel pipe of 1600 mm, 900 mm and 800 mm diameter transmission pipelines from Samail to Izki for the expansion of water supply to Izki, Nizwa, Manah, Bahla and Al Hamra.

Scope of Services
Evaluation of tenders, preparation of contract documents and supervision of construction, testing and commissioning of the project facilities, and defects liability period services. Review of overall project designs, value engineering and design optimization.

Strategic Advice on the Use of Non-mechanical Meters

Project Features
Installation of non-mechanical meters in two pilot areas that will involve the installation of non-mechanical meters on new consumer service connections and the replacement of existing mechanical meters with new non-mechanical meters.

Scope of Services
Conduct review and evaluate the available non-mechanical metering systems, including magnetic and ultrasonic types and meter reading systems including wireless and GSM based systems for meter reading at a central location or locally in the vicinity of the meter. Preparation of a computerized database for meter installation, maintenance and repair records and examine the institutional requirements related to the recommended metering and meter reading strategy.

Water Supply to Ghaidarana, Al Jaza’a and Dhafrat Villages

Project Features
Implementation of water supply scheme to the three villages of Ghaidarana, Al Jaza'a and Dhafrat which are located in sparsely populated areas with water shortage in Oman's interior.

Scope of Services
Conducted a water source study, preparation of specifications and tender documents for groundwater exploration and supervise those investigations, plan and prepare designs and tender documents for implementation of the water supply schemes to serve the three villages, assist with tendering, tender evaluation and contract awards, and supervise the construction, testing and commissioning of the water supply schemes.

Study on Water Supply to Al Malkai Country Club and Spa

Project Features
Develop a new resort and spa in Barka Wilayat, comprising both an inland and a nearby beach resort and provision of a 5,000 cu. m/day water supply for both drinking water and water for landscape irrigation, considering the alternatives of an independent seawater desalination source or a supply from the public water utility.

Project Features

Conduct an independent check of the submittals for equipment and installation.

Sohar Wastewater Management Scheme

Project Features
Rehabilitation and expansion of an existing wastewater treatment plant and transmission pipelines for a treated effluent re-use system to develop and upgrade the facilities for wastewater management in Sohar. The facilities includes sewers and pumping mains, sewage pump stations.

Scope of Services
Review of master plan, existing studies and available information, and of the existing detailed design; design new areas, preparation of cost estimate, final design, tender documents, assistance during tendering and awarding of contract. Assistance in construction supervision.
