Saida Coastal Area Wastewater Project

Project Features
Construction of new sewerage system including a 45 MLD sewage treatment plant, 2 km sea outfall of 1,200 mm diameter, trunk sewers up to 1,200 mm diameter to intercept the flow of sewage to the city’s beaches, pump/lift stations with capacity up to 1,170 L/s, 26 km collector sewers, 13 local pump stations, 4 km pumping mains, and over 30,000 house connections.

Scope of Services
Construction supervision, including design of extensive variations to required works in view of changes in development planning and wastewater loads.

Project Description
Rehabilitation of the existing sewerage system in Saida by constructing 37.8km of sewer systems, 6.8 km trunk sewer, 2 pumping station, a sewage treatment plant with a 33,600 cu. m/day capacity, and a 1.7km long marine outfall pipeline; construction of 5km long transmission tunnel, 44.5km long transmission pipeline, 13 pumping station, 22 distribution reservoirs, 202 km long distribution pipelines to augment the existing 27,400 cu. m/day water supply to Kesrouan from the Madique water source to meet the demand of 55,000 cu. m/day in 2005.

Scope of Services
Analysis of the water and sewerage sector issues and institutional reforms to ensure sustainability of completed projects.
