Islamabad Metropolitan Water Supply Project

Project Features
Rehabilitation and improvement of the 19 km Left Bank Canal; completion of raw water conveyance system including lining and desilting of 1 km tunnel and 1 km of 1,500 mm diameter steel pipeline; construction of a 2 million cu m raw water reservoir with earthen embankments, 546 MLD water treatment plant, 2,000 and 4,000 L/s pump stations, and two water reservoirs with combined capacity of 90,000 cu m; installation of 27 km of 800 mm and 1,400 mm diameter transmission pipelines; provision of SCADA system; water treatment plant including receiving well, rapid mixing, flocculation and sedimentation tanks, rapid sand filter, self-wash type backwash, backwash water recovery tank, clear water tank, sludge lagoon, chemical building, chlorine building, administration building, 33 kV power substation, paved access roads and site drainage.

Scope of Services
Project management; design review; preparation of detailed design, tender documents and cost estimates; tender evaluation and contract award; construction supervision; operation and maintenance services; provision of overseas training for client’s engineers.

Lahore Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Improvement Project

Project Features
Enhancement of living conditions in the 1,772 sq km city district of Lahore with a population of 10 million through improvements to the water supply, sewerage and drainage facilities resulting in improved protection of the quality of public water bodies and mitigation of flood damage during the monsoon season; conduct of training to improve the management, operation and maintenance of the facilities.

Scope of Services
Preliminary design of facilities; cost estimation; formulation of financing program and procurement guidelines; preparation of project implementation schedule, assessment of project impacts; organization of project implementing units; provision of capacity development program; development of environmental impact assessment instrument; conduct of water quality survey, water demand projection and problem analysis of water supply, sewerage and drainage systems.
