Melamchi Water Supply Project

Project Features
Construction of a water treatment plant at Sundarijal with an initial capacity of 170 MLD and maximum design capacity of 510 MLD at project completion, including facilities for pre-treatment by aeration, chemical dosing and flocculation, sedimentation, rapid sand filtration, disinfection, sludge thickening and sludge lagoons, raw water regulation basin, treated water storage, control system, power supply, access roads, chemical building and administrative building.

Scope of Services
Preparation of detailed design, tender documents, and environmental mitigation measures; assistance with prequalification and tendering; pre-construction and construction supervision; commissioning of the facilities and conduct of training.

Urban and Environmental Improvement Project

Project Features
Improvement of environmental and economic conditions in nine selected growth areas surrounding Kathmandu Valley, namely Banepa, Dhulikhel, Panauti, Bharatpur, Ratnanagar, Hetauda, Bidur, Kamalamai, and Dhading Besi, through the construction of major urban environmental infrastructure, and improvement and extension of the existing water supply and solid waste management systems; strengthening of the management capability and financial capacity of the participating municipalities in order to achieve sustainable urban development.

Scope of Services
Project management; conduct of training programs on institutional strengthening, revenue mobilization, community development and poverty alleviation; technical advisory supervision in the preparation of engineering designs, construction supervision and commissioning of constructed facilities; establishment of procedures and guidelines for procurement of equipment and services.

Improvement of Water Supply Facilities in Urban and Semi-urban Centers

Project Description
Provision of reliable safe drinking water in Dhulabari, Gauradaha, Mangadh; construction of intake facility, 11.8 km 150-225mm diameter transmission pipeline, 4,200cu. m/d slow sand filter system water treatment plant, 600cu. m clear water reservoir, 450cu. m elevated tank, 6.7km 63-300mm diameter distribution pipeline in Dhulabari; 1,100cu. m/d iron removal plant water treatment plant, 300cu. m clear water reservoir, 6.1km 63-160mm diameter distribution pipeline in Gauradaha; and 2,200cu. m/d iron removal water treatment plant and 300cu. m clear water reservoir in Mangadh

Scope of Services
Preparation of basic design, detailed design; supervision of the construction works including process, civil, chemical, hydraulic, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical and instrumentation design; preparation of pre-qualification and tender documents and cost estimates; and provision of assistance during pre-qualification stage.

Detailed Design and Construction Supervision of Distribution Network and Wastewater System Improvement Works in Kathmandu Valley

Project Features
Improvement of the Water covering bulk distribution system of 9.5 k, 1400mm diameter pipe; improvement of around 650 km of distribution network; and rehabilitation of existing water sources, transmission mains, pumping stations, water treatment plants and service reservoirs; improvement of the sewer network.

Scope of Services
Conduct of field investigations and surveys; preparation of hydraulic analysis, detailed design and tender documents: preparation of preliminary drawings, cost estimates and design reports; evaluation of tenders; and assistance in contract negotiations and in contract preparation; supervision of construction works.
