Project Features
Comprehensive contract management for Chongqing Municipal Drainage Company involving five wastewater treatment plants, namely: Tangjiatuo (initial design capacity of 300 MLD), Jiguangshi (600 MLD), Zhongliangshan (35 MLD), Liangping (20 MLD) and Jinkuo (20 MLD); alleviation of pollution and improved quality of the Yangtze River.

Scope of Services
Construction supervision; contract management including bidding documentation review, construction manual preparation, on-site construction monitoring, and preparation of contractual financial controls; equipment commissioning and final inspection.

Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Water Environment Improvement Project

Project Description
Construction of water treatment plants in Yinchuan City and Shizuishan City to augment the present supply of 210,000 cum/day and 96,000 cum/day, respectively; construction of wastewater treatment facilities (oxidation ditch) to discharge 340,000 cum/day and 180,000 cum/day of treated wastewater in Yinchuan City and Shizuishan City, respectively; construction of water reuse facilities to produce 52,000 cum/day and 90,000 cum/day of recycled water in Yinchuan City and Shizuishan City.

Scope of Services
Conduct of site assessment on the necessity and priority of the project, current condition of the water and sewerage sectors in the project areas; preparation of the implementation schedule and procurement schedule; conduct of risk analysis; estimation of the project cost; conduct of environmental impact assessment, institutional/organization study and financial analysis.

Support for Poverty Reduction Program in Tian Hu Poor Areas in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Project Description
Provision of water to 305 villages and power supply to 83 villages that will benefit around 75,000 people in southwest part of China; Procurement of materials and equipment such as well pumps and lifting pump, water pipe and fittings, water purifier, pressure tanks, transformer station equipment, cable and pole for power supply, well drilling machine, bulldozer, dump truck, pickup truck/vehicles; construction and installation of the facilities using local residents.

Conduct of basic design, detailed design; supervision of procurement; assistance in tendering.

Water Supply Systems for Four Cities

Project Description Expansion and construction of new water supply systems in Nanjing (expansion of the Bei He Kou Treatment Plant to 60,000 cu. m/d), Xuzhou (additional supply of 400,000 cu. m/d), Zhenzhou (augmentation of the surface water treatment plant by 200,000 cu. m/d, an additional 100,000 cu. m/d by groundwater development, and another 200,000 cu m/d through groundwater extraction) and Chengdu (augmentation of the surface water treatment plant by 200,000 cu. m/d, an additional 100,000 cu. m/d by groundwater development, and another 200,000 cu m/d through groundwater extraction) utilizing latest construction technology, equipment and machinery. Scope of Services NJS undertook detailed designs and improvement plans and prepared tender documents for the treatment plants including operation and control systems, detection of chlorine leakage and safety equipment, rotation speed control of pumps, and activated carbon feeding. Detailed design included structural, civil, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation design. The consultancy services also included training programs for effective transfer of technology. Master Plan Study on Afforestation and Management in Miyun Dam Watershed

Project Features
Afforestation and water resource management of the MiYun Dam Watershed, which includes the construction of sabo-works and sediment control infrastructure.

Scope of Services
Preparation of the project design as well as guide for the local consultant; Provision of instructions and guidance for the study & survey to be conducted by the local consultants; and review of the Inception report, Interim report and Draft final report and discussion on technical matters with the local consultant.

Study on Operation Guidance to Taifu Lake Water Circulation Restoration Model Project

Project Features
Improvement of the deteriorated quality of water of Taifu Lake, one of the large-scale natural lakes in China and located in the economically most developed region in China, through treatment of effluents from decentralized sources, particularly caused by inflow of various polluted effluent from the basin.

Scope of Services
Identification of environmental issues; Site reconnaissance and review/analysis of the situation and issues; review/revision of the Project Diagram Matrix; revision of the plan of operations of the project; and preparation of the Technical Report.

Liuzhou Environment Management Project

Project Features
Construction of four wastewater treatment plants, new public toilets, solid waste transfer station and waste collection stations and institution of industrial pollution control reform and plans to improve the environmental conditions in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China.

Scope of Services
Formulation of a Master Plan for the development of sewerage and environmental systems; review of the detailed design and relevant drawings; review of the draft bid documents for the treatment plants; strengthen the institutional capacity of the wastewater treatment company and support implementation of other project components.
