Provincial Towns Improvement Project

Project Features
Provision of water supply improvements in Battambang, Kampot, Kompong Cham, Kompong Thom, Pursat and Svay Rieng; provision of community sanitation facilities and improvement of urban environment, public health and basic urban services in Sihanoukville, Battambang and Kompong Cham; construction of new surface water intake systems and water treatment plants; rehabilitation of existing intakes and water treatment plants; installation of new distribution pipelines totaling 100 km in length and up to 400 mm diameter; installation of 23,300 service connections; repair and rehabilitation of water storage facilities up to 2,000 cu m capacity.

Scope of Services
Preparation and implementation of community sanitation and health improvement program; detailed engineering design; preconstruction services; project planning and programming; contract management; construction supervision; post-construction activities; overall management of local governance and resource mobilization activities.

Siem Reap Wastewater Management Project

Project Features
Rehabilitation of urban drainage/sewerage system, construction of 7 km major new sewers, pumping stations and 8 km force main, and stabilization lagoons on the west side of Siem Reap to treat wastewater discharges of about 3 MLD as a major component of the Mekong Tourism Development Project; development of community sanitation and health awareness program.

Scope of Services
Preparation of initial resettlement plan; topographic surveys and site investigations; detailed design; preparation of prequalification and bidding documents; construction supervision; initial environmental examination and preparation of environmental management plan; formulation of recommendations for the organizational structure and functions of the entity to be established to operate and maintain the sewerage system; preparation of legal documents creating the operations entity; formulation of fee structure and cost recovery schemes for the entity.

Siem Reap Water Supply Project

Project Features
Provision of efficient and sustainable water supply system in Siem Reap through the development of water supply development plan up to the year 2030 and the construction of a planned 75 MLD water supply system including raw water intake facilities from the Tonle Sap lake, and treatment facilities including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection.

Scope of Services
Selection of new water sources; survey of existing wells and assessment of potential yield of groundwater; identification of water supply project to meet the water demand; preparation of feasibility study for the proposed water supply project; formulation of a long-term water supply development plan; technology transfer to Cambodian counterpart personnel.

Replacement and Expansion of Water Distribution Systems in Provincial Capitals

Project Description
Replacement of around 35 km of distribution pipes and expansion of around 90 km of distribution pipes in Pursat, Battambang and Sihanoukville to reduce water leakage and fully utilize the capacity of the existing water treatment plant; establishment of flow monitoring/control systems; Improvement of business operations.

Scope of Services
Preparation of detailed design and preparation of tender documents; assistance in tendering; provision of construction supervision services; Formulation of a capacity development program and conduct of skills training particularly in service pipe connection.

Survey on the Water Supply Sector of 24 Provinces
