City of Industry Industrial Park Project

Project Features
Development of 120,000 sq m industrial buildings in a 40 ha industrial park in southern California’s City of Industry, including infrastructure facilities such as water supply, sewers, storm water drains, a double box culvert replacing a major storm drain channel traversing the site, a building spanning over the culvert, protective works for an existing high-pressure gasoline line, and provisions for future extension of railroad spurs to serve some of the buildings.

Scope of Services
Planning; preparation of detailed engineering design and tender documents; assistance in tendering and construction; coordination with dry utility companies and with the Southern & Union Pacific Railroad for right-of-way; assistance in the processing of permits with the Los Angeles County Flood Control District and the US Army Corps of Engineers for replacing the storm drain channel.

City Ranch Development Project

Project Features
Development of 1,400 ha City Ranch, a master-planned community located in the City of Palmdale, Los Angeles County, involving the construction of 5,000 housing units, a golf course, shopping center and other urban amenities by one of the largest homebuilders in the USA; the development required specialized engineering skills to cope with the critical site conditions as domestic water and sewer lines had to cross the San Andreas Fault and the California Aqueduct, a major provider of domestic water to a number of reservoirs in Southern California; two major highways also cross the site over the aqueduct, and the project required major grading of 5 million cu m of earthwork and involved the construction of integrated infrastructure facilities comprising roads, street drains and main drains with flood control facilities, sewers, water supply, power and communication facilities.

Planning; preparation of land use studies, design and cost estimates; construction supervision.

Getty Center Civil Engineering Project

Project Features
Construction of the Getty Center, a 90,000 sq m facility at the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking Los Angeles Basin and the Pacific Ocean consisting of the J. Paul Getty Museum, a research library, school of art, conservation laboratory, 450-seat auditorium and restaurants surrounded by extensive public gardens on steep terrain within a 40 ha complex; major grading in several phases involving the movement of approximately 1,000,000 cu m of material; development of street plans including the widening of Sepulveda Boulevard from the San Diego Freeway on/off ramps to Getty Center Drive in anticipation of increased traffic; and development of aesthetically pleasing visual infrastructure that subsequently received many accolades.

Scope of Services
Preparation of site development plans and construction documents for grading, street, sewer, water and storm drain facilities; coordination with architect, landscape architect and local regulatory agencies; civil engineering support in working with a multi-consultant team to obtain all required approvals from the City of Los Angeles for the construction of the Center.
