Zanzibar Urban Water Supply Development Project

Project Features
Improvement and expansion of water supply system and facilities in Zanzibar through construction of eleven wells and four water reservoirs with combined capacities of about 12,000 cu m/d and provision of technical assistance on operation and maintenance, institutional development and public awareness program.

Scope of Services
Basic design; detailed design; preparation of prequalification and tender documents; cost estimation; construction supervision; conduct of training for operation and maintenance.

Technical Cooperation Project for Enhancement of Water Supply Management of Zanzibar Water Authority-Phase 1

Project Features
Development and improvement of management system and processes to improve business efficiency and profitability; introduction of process changes and business processes, preparation of water tariff schedules, conduct of staff training on billing, collection and claims handling, establishment of water consumption monitoring system.

Scope of Services
Review and analysis of the strategic plan, organization and institutional structure of ZAWA; preparation of job descriptions of the staff, code of conduct; development of a computerized customer management system, and provision of advice in the collection of customers' information; preparation of a water tariff table based on financial statements and projections; assistance in public relations activities as well as support to ZAWA in enlightening customers on tariff collection; provision of OJT/trainings/workshops.

Rural Water Supply in Tabora Region in United Republic of Tanzania

Project Features
Improvement of the rural water supply condition in Tabora Region which has the fourth lowest water coverage rate in Tanzania and where groundwater resource is very limited.

Scope of Services
Conducted a regional evaluation for groundwater development using information and data on existing well inventories, geological and topographical maps, existing groundwater development reports, geological field survey, water quality analysis data of existing wells and existing analysis results of geophysical prospecting in phase I and to conduct F/S study for priority projects in phase II for priority projects in phase II; Conducted organizational assessment; identified priority sites for the water supply facilities.
