Malaysia Sewage Treatment Plant Project
Development of modern centralized sewerage systems replacing numerous existing small systems involving the construction of 13 mechanized sewage and sludge treatment facilities in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Melaka, Kedah and Perlis States; 154 km sewer networks including a deep bored interceptor tunnel below the Klang River in Kuala Lumpur; sewage treatment and centralized sludge treatment based on the activated sludge process including final effluent disinfection by UV in two locations; total population equivalent served almost 2 million by both sewage and centralized sludge treatment systems, the capacity of the largest facility being 400,000 population equivalent for a sewage flow of 97 MLD.

Project management; review of technical data on existing facilities; study and evaluation of alternatives; preliminary design and detailed design; preparation of tender documents; tendering assistance; construction supervision; technology transfer.

Muda River Flood Mitigation Project
Preparation of flood mitigation plan which included river channel widening, erosion protection, dike construction, and replacement of river structures such as bridges and weirs spanning over 45 km of the Muda River Basin to mitigate the effects of frequent flooding in urbanized areas along the river’s flood plain; the river has a catchment area of 4,210 sq km and is used as the source of potable water supply and irrigation water in Kedah and Penang States in Malaysia.
Scope of Services
Site reconnaissance; review of previous studies; planning and feasibility of cost-effective solutions for flood mitigation considering social, environmental and economic factors.
